I found it to be the least enjoyable of the 4 books because it was more of a typical “whodunnit” Traitor's Moon (Nightrunner, Vol. 3, wherein Alec and Seregil have become a comfortably established couple in a sort-of self-exile. IMHO, “Traitor's Moon” is the book that doesn' t fit. This was actually the perfect choice.
